MOORESVILLE, N.C. (January 10, 2024) – Sam Hunt Racing (SHR) announces today that Corey Heim, the 2023 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) regular season champion, will pilot the No. 26 Toyota GR Supra for multiple races in 2023 with SHR in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). Heim’s first start of the season will take place on March 2 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS).

“I can’t wait to join Sam Hunt Racing again in 2024,” said Corey Heim. “I saw improvement throughout every start I made with SHR in 2023 from top to bottom, including in myself as a driver. That’s really what I’m looking for in a partnership — the constant push to be better, and I know SHR will continue to make that their goal in 2024.  It really excites me as a driver to be part of a group like this. I’m looking forward to building this year together and contending for wins.”

Corey Heim is a 21-year-old racer out of Marietta, Georgia. The young Toyota Racing Development driver collected the 2023 regular season championship in the NCTS following three wins, 12 top-five finishes, and 19 top-ten finishes out of 22 starts. Overall, Heim has five wins in the series, including two wins in 2022. Heim made four NXS starts in 2023, and was part of SHR’s first double top-10 run at Darlington Raceway in May. Heim, the 2022 NCTS Rookie of the Year, is currently piloting the No. 11 Tundra TRD Pro full-time in the NCTS with TRICON Garage.

“Everyone at Sam Hunt Racing is excited to have Corey back with us at an expanded capacity in 2024,” said Sam Hunt, 30-year-old owner of Sam Hunt Racing. “Corey is a young man that I’ve been a vocal believer in for years now, and I know he will be a driver that can grow into a staple of our Xfinity Series program. He embraces and believes in our group, and he is willing to put the work in to grow with us and compete at the highest level possible.”

Heim’s first start of the season will take place at LVMS on Saturday, March 2 at 5:00PM ET. The 300-mile race can be viewed on FOX Sports 1 with live radio broadcasting from the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90.
